Women in Business
This month I’m excited to share I have taken on a new challenge in the workplace. I have secured a full time Project Manager position in the Ship Building industry, taking another step towards changing perceptions of women in non-traditional roles.
Charity Features
I was happy to attend my employers Open Day, proudly supporting Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH). The open day helped raise money for PCH and gave employees the opportunity to bring families to their place of work. The employees approach to wellbeing, work life balance and providing equal opportunity is proving them an industry leader and I cannot wait to work with them to achieve breakthrough goals.
Impound Feline Rescue (IFR) is a local rescue dedicated to saving pound cats and finding them homes. I love regularly supporting IFR as a local rescue within my community. This month, IFR held a fundraiser at Petbarn Kwinana where members of the community could have pictures of their pets taken with Santa. Tyson, my ten year old best friend, had a blast getting his Santa picture. Follow @ifrescue to find details on how to support and donate.
Opportunities
I’m forever grateful for the opportunities that have opened up from Miss Global Australia. This month I was honoured to walk in Fa Concept’s Haute Couture Show at the Perth Convention Centre, model for Sax Sea and Aqua Blu, partnering with key sponsors Mercedes Benz Diesel Motors and Make-up Art and Direction by Siobhan, travelling with my Galaxy Sister Queens to Rottnest Island, where I was lucky enough to drive the SeaLink Ferry and work with Photographer Maverick Lam. On top of all this, we held two castings for Australia Galaxy Pageants and I have been ecstatic to see so many new and familiar faces entering the Pageant World.
I am certainly counting my blessings and making the most of every opportunity.
Never give up and be confident in what you do. There may be tough times, but the difficulties which you face will make you more determined to achieve your objectives and to win against all the odds.
Yours Always -
Miss Global Australia 2018

When did you start your career and why?
I moved out of home at 17 (over ten years ago!) and went straight into full time work to support myself. I started my career in Internal Sales working for a company supplying safety flooring solutions. I spent five years gaining industry and work place experience and during this time gained the drive to work up to a senior management position. I've since leveraged experience across multiple companies, industries and departments to better my knowledge and secure more challenging and senior level positions to support my career goal of reaching an executive level position. I started very early in the work force and have put a lot of time and effort into ensuring I have the right experience, training and exposure to support me reaching my goals. My drive to reach an executive position is both a personal and social goal, to be a leader in paving a less restrictive career path for women and setting out to prove to myself that in the face of adversity, you can do anything you put your mind to.
